Aside from just reviewing the films, i'm hoping to look at some topics which I have enjoyed looking into and learning about:-
- Old Hollywood.
- Individual directors.
- Famous directing styles.
- Equality in film - how are women and minorities represented?
- Overused film tropes and stereotypes
- Influences through the medium of film, still used and copied today.
- Individual actors who have had a huge impact on the film industry.
- Society's reaction to certain films and how their attitudes to these films deemed originally "shocking" have changed over time.
- Films which have had such a strong influence that they are as well loved today as they were when they were first released!
- Are film makers losing originality therefore relying on constant remakes?
- Is Hollywood an issue. Does it limit the creative side of film and repress independent film ideas?
- Is there an intrinsic problem with the film industry? Is it narcissistic, shallow, obsessed by money and plagued by fame (vacuous celebrity culture)?
- Is "film" and the very affluent industry really necessary when there are people still struggling for basics to survive?
